New Feature Spotlight: Fitness Profile

Podfitness 2.0 has been basically rebuilt from the ground up, so we thought it’d be a good idea to bring you up to speed on what’s new.

The first thing you’ll notice when logging in to Podfitness is that the Fitness Profile is different. It’s slightly different on the surface, and completely revamped underneath. There are a couple of things to keep in mind when you’re filling out or changing your profile:

  1. You only have to fill out the Profile once, but it’s recommended you keep it up to date.
  2. What you answer really does matter: Podfitness will recommend a training program based on your Profile
  3. Every individual workout is going to be based on the preferences you set in your Profile.
  4. Picking your Primary Goal is important: it will make the biggest difference in the recommendations Podfitness offers you.

Actually filling out the Profile is pretty self-explanatory. If you pick more than one goal, you’ll be asked to choose a Primary Goal. For example, if you want to run a 5K and lose 10 pounds, you’ll have to choose which one is more important.

Once you’ve filled out your Profile, you’ll be asked to confirm that Podfitness knows what you want, based on your Profile. You can go back and edit your Profile, or go on to pick a Training Program and download your workout.

You can alter your Fitness Profile anytime. Again, using our example, you could select Lose 10 Pounds as your primary goal, start a program with your trainer, and change your profile later to say that you’d rather run a 5K. You’ll still have the program you selected with your first trainer, but you could start a second program geared toward getting you ready for a 5K. (We’ll have more about using multiple trainers in an upcoming Spotlight.)

You’ll always see a quick snapshot of your Profile in the upper-left of your Podfitness homepage. Be sure to experiment with your Fitness Profile to try to get new and different things!

Not really a comment, but more of a question - Can you elaborate on how the new version handles multiple goals. I mean, I really do have multiple goals, but what good does it do for me to set them all in my fitness profile?
