My Workout: Powered by Podfitness on “Hiatus”

EDIT: The first 10 episodes are now on DVD! Click here to order from Amazon!
As you probably know, “Hiatus” is a nice way of saying “cancelled”. Today, My Workout: Powered by Podfitness is off the air; Lifetime Television has decided not to renew the show for another season.
It’s a bummer, but for now, it’s a good thing internally: we had to severely split our resources to make the show (and it cost over $1.5 million !), and we’re using our resources to focus on improving Podfitness.
It’s familiar and sad. We learned a lot about the stresses of running a big-time TV show from “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip”, which taught us a valuable lesson: Don’t take lessons about running a TV show from a TV show that got canceled before it finished its first season.
There is, of course, a silver lining: we are working on getting all 100 half-hour episodes (that’s 50 hours of workouts, if you’re math impaired like me) on DVD, and we’re currently in talks to bring the show back within a year or so to another network. It’s pretty hush-hush, but I can tell you the network begins with “O”.
The good news is, that since starting the show, Podfitness has seen major, major improvements. If you want to see what all the fuss is about, click here. If you want to be notified of updates about the show, or just want to sound off, feel free to comment on this post.
