One drink is good for you, more than two is harmful. What gives?

We’ve all heard that a glass of wine or other light drink once a day is good for your heart. A recent report from CBS News states that more than one drink for women and more than two for men is harmful though. So where is the line?

Let’s break it down a bit because if you are anything like me — you’re confused. According to the study, a drink is a 12-ounce bottle of beer, a 5-ounce glass of wine, or 1.5 ounces of 80-proof distilled liquor which all have between 13 and 15 grams of alcohol. I think we can all agree that these portions are smaller than we thought they were.

So what does a health conscious individual such as myself think of all this? I guess the moral of the story is, don’t overdo it under the pretense that drinking is somehow “good” for you.
