Eat less and exercise more aka The boring diet that gets results
The New York Times had an interesting article about how we as a nation are inundated with diet fads, books and other worthless weight loss propaganda around this time of the year. And let’s face it, we all want to believe that the next flash in the pan weight loss solution is going to work for us. And some of them might short term, but they won’t in the long run and that’s what counts right? What the diet books and infomercials would never tell you is that you simply do not need them or their low-carb, low-sugar system flush green tea diets. Simply by intaking less calories than you normally do and getting on a Podfitness (WINK WINK) exercise plan you will lose weight. Slowly maybe, but the pounds will stay off if you stick with it.
In fact, we’ve introduced many new weight loss routines for the new year. If you’re an existing Podfitness customer simply change your primary goal in your fitness profile to weight loss to see your new recommendations. And if you aren’t a Podfitness customer, give the 10 day free trial a shot and see if it’s for you. You’ve got nothing to lose but weight.
Ok, enough with the sales pitch. The article goes on to talk about ways to start your children off with healthy eating habits, focusing on brain food and picking out foods that can help fight cancer. The bit about ignoring your young child’s faces when eating foods they don’t like was especially interesting to me because there are some foods I just can’t get my daughter to choke down; like peaches.
It’s kind of a wake up call for me too, I mean if I am overweight it’s simply because of the things I have put into my mouth and the minimal activity I have gotten. So to lose it we simply need to reverse those habits. It can’t be that simple can it?
