An 86% chance you’ll be overweight?

If you haven’t seen Wall-E this summer, it’s required viewing. It’s not only a magnificent film, but it paints a vivid (if not subtle) picture of humanity’s future, and science is actually reinforcing this view.

A pretty disturbing new study by Johns Hopkins suggests that by 2030, 86 percent of Americans will be overweight or obese, with related health care expenses pushing close to 1 TRILLION DOLLARS. With a “T”.

This means that in 20 years, there’s an 86% chance you’ll be overweight! Those are not terrific odds.

Not to despair, it’s easier to be in the 14% than a lot of people think. In fact, thinking is exactly what will put you in the 14%, rather than the 86%.

At Podfitness, we’re not sitting on our hands about this, either. The fact is, people don’t want to get off the couch to try to lose weight, and we’ve actually got something pretty revolutionary up our sleeve. We’ll post about it quite soon.
